With the myAlerts app from AlertSense, users can stay informed by receiving critical emergency alerts from public safety agencies, advanced warnings about severe weather, and community notifications affecting their loved ones and community.

My Locations:

Users have the option to input important locations such as their home, children's school, aging parents' residence, university attended by older children, and workplace. The app can also track users' current location when traveling to ensure they receive relevant emergency alerts for the city or area being visited.

Types of Alerts Available:

• Severe Weather Alerts: Users can receive timely notifications about severe weather conditions that may impact them or their designated locations. The app sources information from the National Weather Service and sends targeted alerts when a location falls under the forecasted impact area. Users can customize their alert preferences based on severity levels, choosing to receive only the most urgent warnings or all watches and advisories.
• Public Safety Alerts: Stay updated on emergency alerts issued by public safety authorities concerning situations that could jeopardize personal safety or that of loved ones. These alerts cover a range of events including criminal activities, active shooter situations, environmental hazards, wildfires, floods, and evacuation orders.
• Community Notifications: Users have the option to receive alerts regarding local events that could disrupt daily routines and commutes, such as road closures or power outages.

Please be aware that if a location lacks coverage by a public safety agency using the AlertSense Service, users will still receive severe weather alerts but might not receive public safety alerts or community notifications for that specific area. If your locality does not currently utilize AlertSense, you are encouraged to reach out to your local public safety organization to advocate for implementing this valuable service.
